ENGLISH Dansholmen
(Dance Island) is a festival area in Tolkkinen and
is located in the archipelago near the city
of Porvoo. In the summer, Dansholmen
is a popular place for traditional dance events, weddings and other types of
festivities. The beautiful island by the sea is a perfect place to spend a
summer evening in a true Finnish spirit during a dance night. You can also
rent Dansholmen and arrange an unforgettable
wedding on the island. The dance pavilion is recently renovated and in the
café you can sit both indoors and outdoors. Tolkkinen Volunteer
Fire Department (TVFD) arranges traditional dance events on the island.
It is about 10 kilometers from Porvoo to Dansholmen and you can easily and conveniently come by
car, bus or boat. In the year 2011, dance events will be held on the
following days (start 8pm): June 11th, June 25th, July
23rd, August 13th, August 27th and September
